Situated within the Edinburgh Business School, the MSc International Sport Management programme reflects the School’s mission to be a global leader in accessible and practice-oriented business education. The programme comprises a core of business knowledge and understanding with additional emphasis on the study of topics central to sport management in national and international contexts. During their studies students develop theoretical understandings of areas including competitive strategy, leadership, finance, policy, governance, and management in an international sporting context. Contemporary issues, notably sustainability and equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), are themes studied across our different courses. The programme has a strong emphasis on experiential and applied learning and academic staff work closely with colleagues in Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre, and with external professionals. Our aim is to develop well-qualified managers who can combine management and financial skills with specialist knowledge of sport and its unique institutional structure.
