What is the Hackathon?

A weekend-long event where groups of people come together to create new solutions, products or businesses that can make a positive contribution to the world around them. All teams at the SportsPro Hackathon will – of course – be competing against each other, but simultaneously will share a common objective: driving sustainability in sport.

Students will receive mentorship from some of the leading innovators in the sports industry.

All Teams receive:

• Entry to the 2025 SportsPro Hackathon
• Dedicated mentorship throughout the competition weekend
• Dedicated profile on the Hackathon Hub
• Coverage of the Teams and Universities throughout

Teams are competing for:

• Opportunity to present their idea at SportsPro Live 2024
• Challenge winners to have an editorial feature published by SportsPro about their concepts
• More prizes to be announced…

What a great experience for everyone involved!!! Congratulations to the winners, but also to SportsPro. A much needed initiative, well planned and professionally delivered. Another milestone in the development of sport as an important industrial sector and business activity.

It was an honour to be a mentor to the students taking part in the SportsPro Hackathon themed on sustainability. The energy, passion and enthusiasm of the students taking part was fantastic to witness. I am confident the event has provided them with an excellent opportunity for personal development, which will aid them in their careers. It is safe to say that the future of the sports industry and indeed the planet should be in safe hands with these creative and purpose driven thinkers.

I was incredibly impressed with the quality of projects from the students – their creativity and ground-breaking concepts are essential for the future well-being of the sporting industry and this initiative provided an unequivocal ability to bring fresh insight and conceptual development into our world.
